Preparation.
Little advanced preparation is needed for dental bonding. Anaesthesia is not usually necessary unless the dental bonding is being used to fill a decayed tooth, the tooth needs to be drilled to change its shape, or the crack is near sensitive parts of the tooth root.
Your Deer Park dentist will use a shade guide to match the colour of your tooth with the colour of the resin.
The bonding processes.
In the next step, the surface of the tooth is roughened, and a conditioning liquid is applied. These procedures help the bonding material attach to the tooth.
The tooth-coloured, putty-like resin is then applied, moulded, and smoothened to a suitable shape. A special curing light is then used to harden the material.
After the material is set, your dentist will trim, shape, and polish it to match the texture of the rest of the tooth surface.
Completion Time.
Dental bonding takes about 30 minutes to an hour to complete per tooth.
Dental bonding is among the easiest and cheapest cosmetic dental procedures. Unlike porcelain veneers and dental crowns, which are customised tooth coverings that must be manufactured in a separate laboratory, dental bonding can usually be performed in one office visit, unless several teeth are involved.
Compared with veneers and crowns, the amount of tooth enamel that is removed is minimal.
Deer Park dentist also serves local communities in Albanvale, Kings Park, Cairnlea, St Albans, Ardeer, Albion, Sunshine West, Derrimut, Burnside, and Caroline Springs.
